Uncover opponents' patterns of behavior, in concentric circles of relevance

As litigators prepare to cross-examine on some tortious or improper action by a company or individual, they often ask us to look for a pattern of similar actions in the opposing party's background. We view these searches in concentric circles, with past acts that exactly match the present one in the bull's eye.

For example, we investigated a businessman who participated in some complex transactions and then sued when they went sour, claiming that he was mentally incompetent to understand the transactions. We found evidence that he had done exactly the same thing before (bull's eye), and had also been involved in other disputes and financial difficulties (further out on the dart board).

We find that people tend to have the same kinds of business disputes in the same ways over and over.
