Search for opponents' assets to enforce a judgmentWe have extensive experience uncovering opponents' assets during and after litigation. For example, we were appointed to search for the assets of numerous individuals associated with a company dragged into bankruptcy by fraud; and we act for the workout departments of several banks, finding the assets of businessmen-borrowers who claim they cannot repay the banks' loans.
We sometimes find assets at the end of tangled paper trails and at other times in witnesses' memories:
- In the days before the indictment of a certain money manager on fraud charges, we found out, on behalf of a company he had victimized, that he had just transferred his million-dollar home to a related corporate entity.
- Counsel for a judgment creditor received unconfirmed reports that a bankrupt individual was improperly removing valuable art and furnishings from his home. We identified and contacted a former employee of the bankrupt individual, who provided solid evidence of the looting.
